GET/v1/seo/indexation/urls/inspect

Inspect how Google indexes a URL

seo_indexation.urls.inspect

ReadIdempotentSince 2026-11-01

Inspects one page of a Search Console property connected to the organization with Google's URL Inspection API, live: verdict (PASS, PARTIAL, NEUTRAL, FAIL), coverage_state (e.g. 'Submitted and indexed', 'Crawled - currently not indexed'), robots_txt_state, indexing_state, page_fetch_state, last_crawl_time, google_canonical vs user_canonical, crawled_as, referring_urls, and the mobile and rich results verdicts when Google returns them. Nothing is stored. inspection_url must belong to site_url (same protocol and host, under its path; a domain property covers any protocol and subdomain). Google allows 600 inspections per minute and 2,000 per day per property: inspect a few key URLs, not a whole site. Errors: 404 external_account_not_linked and 400 url_not_in_property (Google is not called), 409 external_rejected, 409 integration_not_connected, 409 integration_reconnect_required, 429 external_rate_limited, 503 external_unavailable. Requires view access to Indexation.

Parameters

site_urlstringqueryrequired

The Search Console property, as seo_indexation.properties.list returns it: a URL-prefix property (https://www.example.com/) or a domain property (sc-domain:example.com). It must be connected to the organization in Data Sources; a trailing slash or the host's letter case may differ.

inspection_urlstringqueryrequired

The page URL to inspect. It must belong to the property: same protocol and host and under its path for a URL-prefix property; any protocol and subdomain for a domain property.

Try it with your test API key

With a test API key the request always goes to your practice organization: example data you can reset. In the practice organization this operation is not simulated (it reaches another platform): it answers 409 sandbox_external_unavailable.
